PLAN WITH MORE CLARITY

Organize documents for medical travel to India

Document requirements depend on your circumstances. Use official instructions for your nationality, travel document and purpose of travel; a sample package or a planning checklist does not establish permission to enter India.

01 / THE DETAILS

Use the official source for the actual application

The Government of India's e-Visa portal publishes information about e-Medical and e-Medical Attendant categories, eligibility, documentation and the application process. Read the relevant current instructions and contact the appropriate Indian mission when your situation is not covered.

We do not reproduce eligibility lists, fees or processing promises here. Record the official page you used and the date you checked it, then recheck before making commitments.

Keep the patient and companion records separate

Create a row for each traveller with the document requested, the issuing authority, the person responsible and the current status. Do not assume that the patient's permission or supporting paperwork also covers a companion.

Use a simple status system: to check, requested, received, checked. Add an expiry or validity date where the document has one, rather than storing a loose collection of screenshots.

03 / THE DETAILS

Connect documents to the itinerary

List the date assumptions used in your provider correspondence, travel reservations and accommodation plans. If a date changes, check which other documents or reservations need updating.

Ask the airline and relevant authorities about any applicable travel documentation, including transit requirements. Keep the official instructions separate from a supplier's general sales information.

  • Which reservations can change without a fee?
  • Who must be told if the provider changes a date?
  • Where is the written confirmation for each arrangement?

Store only what each recipient needs

Keep an organized personal copy of important documents and record the authorized recipient for anything you send. Avoid putting passport numbers or medical information into general enquiry messages or public planning URLs.

These guides do not provide immigration advice or a document-submission service. Prognova currently demonstrates planning flows; it does not obtain visas or confirm entry rights.

Keep this checklist

Print this page or use these headings in your own notes. Do not put sensitive medical details in a public planning tool.

  • Check official instructions for each traveller.
  • Record the source and date of your check.
  • Track required documents and their status.
  • Reconcile dates across confirmed arrangements.
  • Use appropriate private channels for sensitive documents.
